President Joe Biden visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday to thanked the senior staffers for taking care of his late son, Beau Biden in his final days, and for the care he has also received at the hospital over the years.
During President Biden visitation, he meet with five unidentified wounded Force personnels, 3 members of the Army, 1 member of the Marine Corps and 1 Member of the Army National Guard.
The President was said to be friendly with all the staffers and greeted Col. Barr with an elbow-bump and also greeted Cmdr. Nasworthy by presenting her with a challenge coin.
Biden visitation has come with a lot of thanks as he talked about how the Medical Center has saved his life while battling with cranial aneurysms.
“you guys have done something great for my family, I spent six months with a couple of cranial aneurysms and a major embolism,” and quipped “Great fun. The docs are alright, the nurses are better. Male and female, you know what I mean?”
During his speech, he also mentioned about how the centre took care of his son who suffered from stage four glioblastoma in Iraq
“Anyway. You saved my life here. I appreciate that,” the President added, as he walk around the hostpital.
