Iranian president gives Medical personnel COVID-19 break to rest

Iran president, Hassan Rouhani, at a cabinet session on Wednesday, said that he believed that the lockdown on cities said to be red zones would lead to refreshment of the medical personnel.

Medical personnel have been offering relentless services during the coronavirus pandemic, so the lockdown will create an opportunity for them to be refreshed.

He said this is not due to insufficient medical equipment in the country, just that the personnel have been working for nine months and now they need to rest and be refreshed.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak in 2019, the virus has killed over 1,340,000 globally while the number of death in Iran has passed 42,000.

The only way to tackle the virus is to follow the health protocols and social distancing, he included.
