The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, stated that President Muhammadu Buhari will not resign as Nigeria president until the his tenure expires in May 2023.
He said president Buhari has the overwhelming mandate of Nigerians to control over the affairs of the country.
Mr Mohammed was reacting to a statements by some commentators, concerning political and religious leaders” calling for the president resignation over lack of insecurity in the country.
“I just want to say that the government, which has continues to provide the security agencies with the what they needed also believes they can tackle insecurity.
“These challenges will be successfully tackled. I will however advice all commentators, especially political and religious leaders, to be very careful at this time and not tackles with violent comments.
“These are comments that could leads to religious, ethnic and political disorders and further divide us,” he said.
Mr Mohammed also stated that some kind of comments that have been attributed to some leaders, especially religious leaders, are reckless and bitter.
He also urges nigerian Leaders to be part of solutions to problems Nigeria is facing than aggravating situations.
