Troops ambush bandits residence in Benue, Nasarawa, kill one and arrest 4

The Defence Headquarters says the troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have raided some bandits’ camps in some areas of Benue and Nasarawa states, killing one and arresting four on Sunday.

The Defence Coordinator for Media Operations, Major General John Enenche, said this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

Enenche said the operations were carried out by troops deployed to Keana in Nasarawa and
Guma in Benue State.



He said, the troops recovered one AK-47 magazine, one AK-47 rifle, three mobile phones and one locally made pistol from the camp which was later destroyed.


Enenche said in his statement “ troops of Sector 1 deployed at Gagbe in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue carried out a dawn raid on another suspected armed bandits hideout at Tse Agi area.

“The apprehended four suspects, one AK 47 magazine, two AK 47 rifle and 46 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition were recovered at the location.

“The hideout were been destroyed and the suspects are currently being profiled and which they will be handed over to the appropriate prosecuting agency for further action.

“The Military High Command appreciates the public for their cooperation in providing credible information which has so far bring the successes of the operations.

“The Armed Forces of Nigeria assures that these fught against the bandits of this Nation will not cease until normalcy is restored to all the troubled zones of the Country.”
