Ibadan serial killer is to be remanded in iyaganku’s court, ibadan


A 19-year-old Shodipe, has been remanded by the Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, for killing one funmilayo oladeji.


Although, Shodipe who is labelled as a serial killer, is been charged with one count charge of murder.

Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi, the Senior Magistrate, who did not take shodipe’s plea, ordered him to be remanded at abolongo Correctional Centre, She also adjourned the case till Oct. 26, for mention, with pending advice from the state Ministry of Justice.


The Prosecutor, Sgt. Salewa Ahmed told the court that Shodipe on Aug.13, at about 2:30 p.m in Moniya area of Akinyele Local Government Area(LGA), allegedly killed a lady, Oladeji, 45, by hitting her with a plank on her forehead.

He said the offence breach section 316 and it’s punishable under section 319 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State 2000.

Shodipe had also confessed to the killing of five persons, including Barakat, a student of Institute of Agricultural Research and Training in Ibadan,


The accused escaped from police custody after was arrested along with others and remanded at a police station.

He caused the death of the woman the same day he escaped, before he was re- arrested and re- arraigned.
